USB DAC Show releases – two colours in two cities
Two cities in two countries – in two colours at two Shows on one weekend! But the sound of the music was all “on the same page”, thanks to REDGUM’s new RGDAC8 as a Multi-format, Asynchronous, Hi-res USB DAC.
Happily, the diverse listening publics attested to that at both the Australian HiFi & AV Show 2017 in Sydney, and the KLIAV in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the weekend of 28 – 30 July.
What started its beta-test phase late last year as the BlackDac 8, is now released as the RGDAC8. Its final finessing was the addition of an Advanced Audio Stage on a separate pcb. The colour tweaks of SILVER or BLACK chassis have added the visual niceties for the real world.
As with everything REDGUM, this USB DAC’s standard of sound quality is referenced within the existing range of REDGUM DACs – yes, even while those remain Redbook standard. As Signature Series models, the RGCD5ENR (CDP) and RGDAC5 have already set the bar very high thanks to each channel having its own top-line Burr Brown PCM1702 DAC chip. So, the sound quality achieved by this new USB DAC had to be a match for that standard!
At the very least!
