Replacement REDGUM Dual Mono remote control
As well as Black Series amplifiers, this Dual Mono remote will control the REDGUM Amplifolia Amplifier range and/or the REDGUM Remote Control CD Players.
As each product is packed with two remotes, we recommend setting the spare safely aside just in case the dog eats your first one.
As Carrier of Codes
These days with all our coffee tables covered in remotes, customers prefer to have just one Universal Learning Remote at hand. So for the good reason that any remote is basically just a carrier of codes, once the REDGUM codes have been transferred, it can effectively be “discarded”, straight out of the box. With this in mind, REDGUM has spared you the added production costs of a “prettier” remote. Instead, we have knowingly chosen a light one that sinks into the hand without any of the hassle of holding it. You may or may not prefer to continue using it. (If not, please do keep our original remote safe, just in case the dog eats your Universal.)
Battery Check
For both Amplifolia or Black Series remote controlled amplifiers, when the Magic button is pressed, the top-most LED light in the display will flash as well as click, indicating the receipt of remote codes; aka battery status: in good working order.
Since its inception in 2007, REDGUM’s unique Dual Mono remote control firmware has morphed slightly. Whilst not quite sure what function would become critical in time, one button was labelled “Magic”, but was not assigned initially. Had we known at the time, it could have been labelled “Phew!”. (Nothing worse than tearing your system apart to find all that was needed was a new battery in the remote!)
And while on the topic, yes, it is worth paying top dollar for a top quality battery as they do serve you far better in the long run.
