REDGUM Magnificata (Pre – Power)

To celebrate REDGUM’s 21st Birthday, even the ‘monster’ of the Amplifolia range can find ways to reinvent itself with a new design, the MAGNIFICATA, aimed at super low impedance speaker loads down to 1 ohm.

As the icing on the cake, try a tripling of its MOSFET power, an increase to 100,000 μFarad per channel, and all Input connectors hand-wired with OCC single strand, solid core Silver wiring. Plus, with auto voltage selection, you can continue partying around the world. Widely spaced, 24 carat gold connectors add that final sparkle to an even higher current amplifier!!

As to the music with all that Transient attack power …
incalculable “Goose Bumps For Grown-Ups!”

Once heard on a REDGUM, such expectations cannot be un-heard!

REDGUM’s MAGNIFICATA amplifier is for when far too much is barely enough. Christened in 2004 as the Signature Series RGM300ENR* System, this is what happens when the head of the household steps out with a newly-upgraded adult identity. No hint of an ego in naming itself the MAGNIFICATA Pre-Power Monoblock System on the occasion of REDGUM’s 21st Birthday! Still “on song” at its sonic core as an Australian-made Amplifolia amplifier, now it has lots more to sing about while supporting super low impedance speaker loads down to 1 ohm.

What used to be the RGM300ENR’s 400 400WRMS** delivered by its high voltage/high current transformer is now powered by a slightly-lower high voltage and even higher current transformer. Translation: >350W/ch (8Ω); >550W/ch (4Ω); >900W/ch (2 Ω). And you thought you were past wishful dreaming!! Its individual Test Report will be something that only you can brag about.

To grow up to be the master of all means putting on a bit of muscle. Being a flagship amplifier, the MAGNIFICATA has more the weight of a boat anchor (52kg/113lb) as it now sports a distinctive stack of 3 SignWave heat sink chassis. That additional body sculpting lets the 24 double-die MOSFETs, each 250W, do their thing in a very relaxed fashion, direct coupled as they are. Which is another way of saying that the Damping Factor of the MAGNIFICATA has tripled. And to let that tight bass free, the total capacitor value has been increased from 40,000 to 200,000 μFarad.

Though attracting less attention on the rear panel of its Stereo Passive Preamp (ex-RG300p), some bling has been added with widely-spaced 24 carat gold connectors allowing thicker interconnects and bigger connectors more room to elbow in. Even less visible, its inner bling still makes it trill with all Input connectors hand-wired with OCC single strand, solid core Silver wiring. Which leaves one final hidden feature that you will never even know is happening at turn on – Automatic Voltage Selection!

Too much attention to detail only at eye level? Don’t let this manly aura distract you. At ear level, be rendered almost speechless by its Stunning! sound. Fortunately, one word will remain with you to utter – “Magnificata!”

* Rather than being just a dreamy twinkle in the eye for many years, REDGUM’s first 300 Watter was built in late 1993, appearing as its second design. Fitting, then, over 21 years later, that a further metamorphosis of this 300 Watter forms the basis for REDGUM’s Big Birthday release.
